About Us
Al Azhar 4 Islamic Senior High school Bekasi was established in the 1995/1996 academic year by Yayasan Pendidikan Islam Al-Muhajirien Jakapermai in collaboration with Yayasan Pesantren Islam Al-Azhar. Since its early years, the school has demonstrated outstanding achievements. The first graduating class (1997/1998) ranked 4th in the Science Program and 3rd in the Social Sciences Program at the Bekasi Regency/Municipality level. In 1999, the school was granted “equal status” (status disamakan), and the second graduating class once again achieved remarkable results, ranking 2nd in Science and 1st in Social Sciences in Bekasi. Each year, the school consistently graduates students who are accepted into leading public universities (PTNs) in Indonesia. In 2024, a total of 294 students successfully passed the PTN selection process, including admission to two of Indonesia’s top universities. As of mid-2025, 254 students have been accepted into various PTNs, and the number continues to grow, reflecting the strong competitiveness of the school’s graduates. Academically, the school implements the National Curriculum enriched with the Al-Azhar Curriculum, as well as the curriculum from Cambridge Assessment International Education to broaden students’ global perspectives. In addition, learning is supported by a digital system, with smart boards installed in every classroom and the use of iPads by both teachers and students.

Alazhar 4 islamic Senior high School has consistently graduated students who are accepted into prestigious state universities in Indonesia and well-known universities abroad. In terms of college admissions, the school has made a significant mark: in the 2025 SNBT, it successfully enabled 77 of its students to be accepted into various leading public universities across Indonesia, making it the school with the highest number of graduates accepted into state universities among all Al Azhar schools under the YPI Al Azhar foundation. This accomplishment demonstrates that graduates of SMA Islam Al Azhar 4 are not only prepared to compete academically at the national level but also possess a strong readiness to pursue higher education at prestigious institutions both domestically and internationally, especially when supported by student achievements in competitions such as the OSN in Economics.
